The
Urological Laparoscopic Workshop 2005 began at 9 am
when more than 200 delegates from all over Indiaand
abroad registered for the workshop. The first day of
the workshop was full of interaction amongst the delegates
present in the Princeton Club at South Kolkata and the
surgeons carrying out Laparoscopic surgery at Wockhardt
Hospital and Kidney Institute. The following laparoscopic
surgeries were successfully carried out by panel of
urologists during the first session.

The
second half was in the evening when the formal inaugural
session was held immediately after the surgeries were
complete for the day. Dr. Kalyan K Sarkar, the Organizing
Secretary welcomed the guests of honor on the dais.
They all were felicitated with flower bouquet. Dr. Bimalendu
Mukherjee, Dr. Salil Ghoshal, Dr. Sivaji Basu, Dr. Anant
Kumar, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. NP Gupta, Dr. K Pradhan,
Dr. Dilip Karmakar took their seat on the dais. Each
of them delivered their valued lectures and stressed
on the advantage of application of laparoscopy in the
surgery especially in urology. The entire inaugural
session was professionally conducted by the organizing
secretary Dr. Kalayan K Sarkar. Later, Dr. Sarkar gave
the Vote of Thanks. In his speech, he mentioned about
the scenario of laparoscopy in the field of urology
and mentioned the need of training to the post graduates
in urological field. It was also noted with appreciation
for the surgeon professors who flew down to the city
early morning from all over India and from London, started
the surgeries from 8 in the morning.
The
inaugural session ended with Press Meet when the veteran
specialists presented their speech to the press and
answered their questions. It was mentioned with special
note that the press should convey the advantage of the
workshop in particular and role of laparoscopic urology
in general, to the mass which becomes their prime duty.
The
1st day session ended with dinner where the delegates
made good interaction among themselves, of course towards
the prospect of laparoscopy in the field of urology.
